Top 10 Movies at the US Box Office This Weekend

The numbers are in and Warner Bros.’ new Lego movie, The Lego Batman Movie, won the weekend at the US box office. It pulled in $ 55.6 million, beating out the weekend’s other major newcomer, Fifty Shades Darker, which made $ 46.8 million. Rounding out the top five movies this weekend were John Wick: Chapter 2 ($ 30 million), Split ($ 9.3 million), and Hidden Figures ($ 8 million).

All of these numbers come from Entertainment Weekly.

Globally, Fifty Shades Darker was the winner, taking in a further $ 100.1 million from 57 international regions, boosting its total first-weekend haul to $ 146.9 million. By comparison, The Lego Batman movie made a total $ 93 million globally from over 60 regions.

The newest video game movie, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, falls out of the Top 10 chart in the US for the first time since it came to theaters on January 27.
