It’s not that growth is bad

• Charlie Gilkey has a blog of just over 3,000 subscribers. How exactly do you make this work?

• Do less, better. It’s much easier to make an impression when you focus on doing a few key things incredibly well. Become known for helping people by doing something amazing.
• Create high-value products and services. If your product price range is under $20, you’ll have to move a ton of inventory. But if you focus on valuable, higher-priced products (like awesome consulting or private training) you won’t need as many clients.
• Make more intimate connections. You can create a deeper connection with someone in a five-minute phone call than you can in five months of twitter conversation. The more you can connect on the phone and in person, the better, and the more likely you’ll create relationships that go beyond the surface level.
• Build a referral based business. When your focus is on people (not just numbers), more people will want to refer you to their friends and peers. This means you need to offer excellent customer service and you need to always exceed expectations. Also, if you have a service or product that complements someone else’s, it will be a natural fit for them to refer their people to you.
• Make yourself accessible. So many people create unnecessary distance between themselves and the people they help. They have filters, gate keepers, and barriers to communication. One benefit of staying small is it’s much easier to engage with your audience. Show that you’re someone who really cares and wants to help. The more you do that, the greater depth of connections you will build.

How do I add Swag Bucks to my Facebook account?

Many of the steps I am going to show you are pretty basic and you can just skip to these first few steps if not needed.

First create an account with Swag Bucks if you don’t have one. http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Clixto7

Second Login into your Facebook account and add Gigya (MyStuff) using this link

You will pull up the Gigya Facebook Application page and click on Go To Application button.

The next screen that comes up is for permission to add to your page. Click the Allow button.

Here click the Add to Profile button.

Once you add it to your profile it will be located on your Boxes tab. From here you can either go ahead and add it to the Profile Wall or add your code.

Go to your Swag Bucks account then on the menu bar / promote / promote banners. If you are going to leave the application on the box tab then you can grab one of the larger banners. If you move it to the profile wall then you may want to use one of the square banners at 125 x 125. Copy the code.

*note: When choosing code to add to Facebook always choose the HTML /  MySpace code formats and stay away from the Java code or you will get CODE NOT ALLOWED error when you try to save your work.

On the Gigya application page you can paste the code and click add button and it will add to your profile.  As you can see it uses normal html. It only uses what would normally be placed in the <Body></Body> tags. So if you need to center your banner or widget then just place the code between the following tags:

If you want to add space between two banners you can add the tag </br> between the two separate banner codes

When you have completed your entries then click Add to Profile button.

That is all you need to do. You should now have the banner or widget on your Facebook page.

-Now go show your old friends your new swagger!
