Rovio released its highly-anticipated Angry Birds Space on Thursday — and its easily the most inventive game in the franchise yet.

I should add that I’m no fan of the original. Angry Birds never grabbed me; after a few levels the content felt recycled. As far as mobile puzzles go, there are many more challenging games.

But Angry Birds Space feels different in gameplay, if not in the premise. It sees the familiar bird crew shooting off to space to battle the pig enemy once again. The game presents the 60 levels a planets to explore and conquer as your rid the galaxy of bovine scum. (It was very hard not to yell “PIGS IN SPACE!” while playing this game.)

Samsung is adding to its cadre of potential new phone names, filing three new trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The Korean mobile maker has cast dibs on Galaxy Emerge, Galaxy Halo, and Galaxy Stellar. While we can’t say what the names will be used for (if used at all) specifically, the filings are categorized as relating to “Mobile phones; Smartphons.” We could speculate that these names will be attached to US variants of the upcoming Galaxy S III, but they are just as likely to be applied to low-end or midrange Galaxy handsets. The Halo and Stellar names, at least, seem to have some sort of celestial or otherworldly connotations. Other recent Samsung trademark filings include the Galaxy Axiom, Galaxy Awaken, Galaxy Heir, and Galaxy Rite.
