What if email isn’t dead?

What if email isn’t dead? was written by David Leonhardt, THGM professional SEO consultant.

Mark Twain is famous for saying “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.”  The same could be said for email marketing, and here is why…

It’s a refrain you might have heard a lot of recently (actually, going back at least to 2009): “Email is dead”.  After all, the evidence is all around us:

  • Today’s youth are texting instead of emailing.
  • People message each other on FaceBook
  • Students want to tweet their professors.
  • People “chat” through Skype and iMessage and other chat tools.

Obviously, email is in decline, right?

Google’s stock Android ‘Email’ app arrives in Play Store for Nexus and GPe devices

712dd Google Email Updated 640x1024 Google’s stock Android ‘Email’ app arrives in Play Store for Nexus and GPe devices

Because not everyone is a fan of Gmail (we know, preposterous), Google has just dropped the stock Android Email app onto the Google Play Store for the downloading. The app looks to have been updated since we last seen it, featuring a design that falls in line with other Google apps, including a fancy slide out menu.

If you’ve got a Nexus or Google Play edition device, you can download/update right now via the link below. Really, it seems this is yet another way for Google to continue modularizing their platform so that small app updates can be done individually, with users no longer having to wait around for a major firmware release.

Only his close friends and business partners know his real email address, but for a moment it looked like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had accidentally revealed his personal email address during his presentation on Wednesday.

As Zuckerberg demonstrated a screen that allows users to choose which parts of their profiles they share with apps, an email address was clearly visible: “mz@fb.com.”

One eagle-eyed journalist, Mike Isaac from Recode, posted the screenshot to his Twitter account
