ASUS ZenWatch 2 to launch in men’s and women’s variants this year

ASUS ZenWatch

The ASUS ZenWatch has received critical acclaim from critics and users since it was unveiled in September last year. A new report is now stating that the company could launch the second generation later this year, with more variants on offer. It is believed that the smartwatch will be available in special men’s and women’s variants, instead of having one generic model.

We’ve seen the Moto 360 launching in various band sizes to appeal to a wide range of customers, so it won’t be the first time a company has tried this. The information was provided directly by ASUS CEO Jerry Shen, who mentioned that there will be two variants of the ZenWatch 2 this year, designed for men and women respectively.

However, he hasn’t specified if the wearable will only be different with regards to the band sizes or if there will be some new features in tow as well. In any case, it’s good to know that the company is willing to try something new in the smartwatch segment.

Although the wearable should be running Android Wear in all likelihood, ASUS has expressed interest before to launch an OS agnostic wearable to make it compatible with both iPhones and Android devices.

What would you like to see from ASUS’ next wearable? Sound off below.
